Dr. Nasser bin Misfer Al-Qurashi Al-Zahrani was born in 1383 AH. He grew up in Al-Baha region, where Zahran, a Quraishi tribe lived. He graduated from the Scientific Institute of Al-Mandaq province. Then he joined Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in 1405 AH, and obtained his bachelor’s degree in (1408 AH – 1988 AD) from the College of Arabic Language, Department of Rhetoric and Criticism. Then, he was appointed as a teaching assistant in the same department.
Then, he obtained his master’s degree in Semantics from the same university, in (1414 AH – 1993 AD). Finally, he finished his PhD thesis that investigated the similarity points in the similes of the Holy Qur’an, in the same university in (1418 AH – 1998 AD). His supervisor in both theses was the Muslim thinker and writer, Professor Abdul-Azim Al-Muta’ni, may Allah have mercy on him, who was a scholar at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
